Míriam Escuriola Peña
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) and a degree in Dramatic Art, with a specialization in Acting, from the Institut del Teatre (ESAD BCN).
With over twenty years of professional experience, her career connects the performing arts, audiovisual media, and pedagogy with critical thinking and communicative guidance.She works through the body, the voice, and the spoken word as tools for presence, thought, and transformation.
As an actress, she has worked in theatre, film, and television, with a strong presence in both comedy and drama. She has taken part in landmark productions at venues such as Sala Beckett, Teatre Romea, Teatre Lliure, Mercat de les Flors, and Tantarantana, as well as in series and audiovisual projects for TV3, TVE, Betevé, and platforms such as Netflix. Her career also includes solid experience in radio and voice-over work, lending her voice to animated series, fiction, and cultural projects, consolidating a deep relationship with the voice as an expressive and narrative tool.
In 2026, she leads and performs in the ongoing project “Mobilizations and lockdowns” with Cia. Ad Hoc, the UOC, and an artistic partnership with teams in Greece and Portugal. She will also perform a second season of “Dona i aspirador(a)” by Helena Tornero at Teatre Gaudí (following its first season at Sala Beckett), and will premiere “Caure. To Fall”, also by Helena Tornero, at Dau al Sec (European project “WIRE, Women in Resistance”). In 2024, she appeared in Oriol Paulo’s new series “La última noche en Tremor” (Netflix).
As a creator, director, and playwright, she develops her own projects and collaborates with various companies, exploring contemporary, hybrid, and performative languages. She has directed and created theatre productions, musical cabaret, dance-theatre, live arts pieces, and concert stagings. In 2021, she worked as dramaturg on the creation “Boira a les orelles” with Pirates Teatre at El Maldà Theatre. In 2018, she directed and wrote the original cabaret Akelarre with The Feliuettes. That same year, she concluded the creation laboratory “As punk as possible” as creator and performer (Vulnus, UOC, Sala Beckett), and premiered “Fins als… Nadals”, an original cabaret she directed and wrote at Club Condal (Aules Produccions, Teatre Condal).
Alongside her artistic work, she has developed a solid career as a communication, public speaking, and leadership coach, specializing in storytelling, voice, body, and stage presence applied to professional, corporate, and political contexts. Since 2011, she has worked with spokespersons, management teams, and professionals in both the public and private sectors, collaborating with organizations and institutions such as the Escola d’Administració Pública de Catalunya, the University of Barcelona (ENTI), the UAB, the consultancy Musarion, INEEW, and the agency Something to Say. She also participates as an actress-speaker in specialized training programs for the Spanish Judicial School (CGPJ).
Her work as a teacher spans the university, professional, and artistic fields. She has been a lecturer and Head of Department of the BA Acting program at ESART / Bath Spa University. She is currently involved in the Professional Dance Degree at IEA Oriol Martorell and at Laura Jou Estudi. This pedagogical experience strengthens a personal methodology that understands communication as an integral act: body, voice, thought, and ethics.
Her work as a coach and creator is grounded in the belief that communicating is not only about conveying a message, but about taking a position, creating impact, and building narratives that are coherent with one’s values and context. Her methodology integrates art, critical thinking, and communicative practice, connecting the stage with professional life.
